Join Twoday and work on a large-scale public sector programme
Twoday is looking for an experienced Database Administrator / Data Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will work onsite with one of Denmark's largest public sector organisations, supporting business-critical data platforms and database solutions within a complex and highly regulated environment.
This position combines traditional database administration with modern data engineering and cloud technologies. We are looking for a consultant who can combine strong operational database expertise with experience in data integration, cloud platforms, and data pipelines.
Please note: A minimum of four days per week onsite at the client's location is required.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, patch, and upgrade database platforms
Design, implement, and maintain data integrations and ETL processes
Develop and optimise data pipelines
Perform database performance tuning and optimisation
Support data extraction and reporting requirements
Manage backup and recovery processes
Implement and maintain database security, including users, roles, permissions, and access controls
Monitor database health, availability, and performance
Produce and maintain technical documentation
Advise on databases, integration technologies, and data storage solutions
Support data migration and data quality initiatives
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience working with databases and data platforms
Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
Experience with ETL design principles, data quality, and handling structured and unstructured data
Experience with data modelling and data migration
Experience with SQL Server
Experience working with Linux environments
AWS experience is a mandatory requirement and candidates with extensive AWS expertise will be strongly preferred.
Experience with the AWS ecosystem, including:
AWS Glue
Amazon S3
Amazon RDS
IAM
CloudWatch
Lambda
Understanding of AWS security models and network configuration
Experience working with JSON and CSV data formats, including data serialisation and compression techniques
Strong PostgreSQL experience is highly desirable and will be a significant advantage in the selection process.
Experience with:
PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL
Python and PySpark
Data engineering and data pipeline development

Working Arrangement
Full-time permanent position with Twoday
Onsite work at the client's location in Copenhagen minimum four days a week
Start date as soon as possible, but one month of notice is acceptable
