Senior Technical Test Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Test Engineer to work onsite in Copenhagen, joining a large-scale, business-critical development programme within the public sector.

You will play a key role in ensuring quality, stability, and reliability across releases in a complex system landscape. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with developers and stakeholders in an agile setup.

The role combines technical test automation, test architecture, and a cross-functional role in supporting team processes and delivery flow.

You will be responsible for

Test automation & architecture

• Develop and maintain automated regression tests to ensure stability across releases

• Design and evolve scalable test architecture (e.g. Page Object Model and structured test frameworks)

• Contribute to and improve test orchestration and automation setups (e.g. smoke and regression testing)

Test design & execution

• Design, implement, and execute test cases for user stories, ensuring Definition of Done is met

• Perform functional, integration, component, and user acceptance testing

• Validate that solutions meet acceptance criteria and quality standards

Agile collaboration & delivery

• Participate in backlog refinement, including user stories, enablers, and defect handling

• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure built-in quality

• Support planning, prioritisation, and delivery flow in the team

• Contribute to agile ceremonies (e.g. sprint planning, PI planning)

Test environments & quality assurance

• Help establish and maintain test environments in collaboration with test management

• Ensure reliable test data and environments

• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous delivery

• Contribute to improving overall test strategy and quality practices

We are looking for someone who

• Has solid experience as a technical tester in larger agile development programmes

• Has experience working in Scrum and/or SAFe environments

• Has strong experience with test automation and regression testing

• Has experience with API testing and relevant tools (e.g. Postman, Selenium or similar)

• Has experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating testing into development workflows

• Understands test architecture and scalable test design

• Has experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) or similar practices

• Is comfortable working closely with developers in a full-stack team

• Is comfortable taking a cross-functional role supporting both testing and team processes

• Fluency in written as well as spoken Danish is required

It is a plus if you:

• Have experience teaching or mentoring others in testing practices

• Have experience with test orchestration frameworks

• Have worked in large public sector programmes or regulated environments

• Have experience with AI-assisted testing or modern testing tools
